Freeski & Snowboard Competition Team

New for the 24/25 Season:

- Competition travel is mandatory.

- Competition team will train during bypass blackout.

- Team jackets (to be worn during all training and competition) included in Tuition.

The Competition Team is designed for older athletes who are serious about competing at a high level. Competition Team athletes will exhibit an elite level of dedication to their training and extensive competition schedules.  Training will build upon established fundamentals in big-mountain freeride, slopestyle, rail jam and skier/boardercross. All new athletes wishing to join the Competition Team must receive approval from the Head Ski/Snowboard coach.

USASA and IFSA certified Freeride Program Coaches will mentor and coach Competition Team athletes during weekend and weekday training, and at regional, national, and international competitions.  The Competition Team training schedule is designed for athletes who are dedicated to pursuing the highest level of training.  Athletes will train and demonstrate the ability to tackle steeps, natural jumps, cliff drops, and man-made features in all conditions during training and competitions.  Technical proficiencies and skill assessments will be a regular component of the training.  Additionally, we complete mid and end of season athlete evaluations based on the USSA's Developmental Matrix.  

*Fall Training is mandatory and summer on-snow training is highly recommended.*

Skill Development Focus

Freeride Emphasis - Regional & National Level IFSA events

  • Skiing & Snowboarding steep, technical terrain fluidly and confidently.

  • Sound decision making during competition in technical terrain.

  • Proper line choice and competitive strategy.

  • Focus on personal style and consistency.

  • Self directed goal setting with guidance from Head Coaches.

  • Create a long-term competitive game plan and marketable personal image.

Freestyle Emphasis - USASA & Futures Tour events

  • Sound decision making in terrain parks, boarder/skier cross courses, halfpipes, and in rail-jam formats. 

  • Self directed goal setting with guidance from Head Coaches.

  • Developing a consistent set of tricks/skills used in competition throughout the season.

  • Focus on personal style and consistency.

  • Create a long-term competitive game plan and marketable personal image.

Recommended for Ages 14-18

*Ski/SB Groups based on age/ability.
