Orion Willits

Orion grew up in the Telluride Ski and Snowboard Club. Beginning with moguls and switching over to Big Mountain when the program was started by his coach Chason Russell in 2007. After Highschool Orion attended Montana State University, where he helped found the  MSU Freeride team, while also studying Photography. He moved back to Telluride in 2018 to coach for the same team he grew up on, accepting a position as the Head Competition Coach for the Freeride Program. Orion was looking for a change in scenery so at the beginning of the 2024/25 season Orion moved to Jackson and joined the JHSC Freeride coaching team!

   - Bachelor in Fine Art. Degree in Film and Photography, Emphasis in Photography

Orion strives to be a positive influence and help shape the next generation of Freeride skiers while channeling the amazing mentors he had in his coaches. As Orion's coach Chason Russell liked to say, "being a good person and being a good skier are both important pieces in being a well rounded person."
