Our Freeride Program offers skateboard camps throughout the summer. Skateboarding makes for great summer cross training for your skiers and snowboarders. It’s one of the most rapidly growing sports (now in the Olympics) and provides for a lifetime of community and growth. We’re lucky to have access to top skate parks in Jackson and the surrounding areas and experienced coaches to help guide your kids' progression. 

We will be splitting our camps up into beginner and more advanced weeks. 

Beginner Camps

  • Absolutely no experience required

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Ages 7 and up as of camp date

Skills Development Focus

  • Develop a comfort level of riding and pushing your skateboard the correct way

  • Create a baseline of fundamentals, including ollies, kickturns, tic-tacs, and dropping in

  • Skatepark etiquette

  • Staying in the flow of what can be a fast-paced, intimidating skatepark setting

  • Skateboard maintenance

Advanced Camps

  • Ages 11 and up as of camp date

  • Comfortable with riding your skateboard in a variety of of skate park terrain

  • Positive attitude and willingness to to learn

  • Passion for skateboarding

Skill Development Focus

  • Bowl and ramp skating

  • Ledge and rail tricks

  • Flatground: flip tricks, shuvits, rotations, ect. 

  • Line choice and vision

  • Lip tricks and quarter pipe skating 

Mandatory Equipment For All

  • Skateboard (no longboards)

  • Helmet

  • Appropriate footwear, skate shoes or flat soled shoes (no sandals or running shoes)

  • Water

  • Sack lunch and snacks

  • Sunscreen

  • Spending money (we tend to stop for milkshakes) 

Optional Equipment:

  • Backpack

  • Kneepads

  • Elbow pads

  • Wrist guards

  • Hip pads

  • Sunglasses

Locations: Jackson, Alpine, Driggs, Pinedale, &/or Idaho Falls skate parks. Transportation is provided in JHSC vehicles. Coaches and vehicles are fully insured.

All camps are coed and run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. 

Dates:

  • Camp 1 (Beginner): 6/26-27

  • Camp 2 (Beginner): 7/10-11

  • Camp 3 (Beginner): 7/17-18

  • Camp 4 (Advanced): 7/24-25

  • Camp 5 (Beginner): 7/31 - 8/1

  • Camp 6 (Advanced): 8/7-8 

  • Camp 7 (Open Enrollment): 8/14-15 

  • Camp 8 (Open Enrollment): 8/21-22

  • Camp 9 (Open Enrollment): 8/28-29

Cost:

  • $300 per camp. (no food included)
  • Payment in full upon registration for all camps.

Refund Policy

  • Refund requests more than two weeks prior to the camp start date are eligible for a full refund (minus a 10% transaction fee).

  • Refund requests less than two weeks before the camp date are eligible for a 50% refund.

  • No refund will be provided for cancellations made less than one week before the camp date.

  • No refund for camp fees will be issued for injuries sustained during camp sessions.

  • Skateboard camp fees will be prorated if camp is partially or fully cancelled due to weather.

  • All refund requests must be submitted to both Skateboard Camp Coordinator and Freeride Program Director.
