March 14th Grooming Report
Spring is in the Air!
The temperature yesterday finally made it up into the really warm skiing range with 47ºF being recorded late in the day at Trail Creek. The snow which had been in kind of a state of stasis finally softened and melted a bit in those warmer temperatures. It looks like another similar but perhaps not quite so warm day is on tap for today.
The Pisten Bully jumped into action late afternoon yesterday and was actually able to make some pretty good headway. The snow was soft enough that fresh pretty well defined classic tracks were able to be placed throughout the fields. Most trails also received skate grooming with the slightly corned and soft snow conforming quite well.
Trails will be hard and fast this morning, transitioning to softer and slower as the day warms. There should be something for everybody somewhere sometime today.
Racing wrapped up yesterday; congratulations to the racers and coaches for all the hard work in pulling of this unprecedented covid season. Final results can be viewed at Summit Timing’s website.
Groomer’s choice for today is the fields in the morning, the woods in the afternoon.
