February 3rd Grooming Report
Nor'easter!
While we may not have pounding surf, we do have howling north east winds along with some pretty good amounts of drifting snow. Yesterday you might have been wondering if winter was over but today in addition to wind the temps have dropped substantially with the noon time reading being -8ºC/17ºF. While skiers have not been as numerous as yesterday, we have had a few hardy souls out finding their true Nordic spirit today.
Today’s grooming entailed multiple roller passes of all trails in an attempt to settle the 4-6 inches of fresh snow. The Ginzu was then able to venture forth setting classic tracks on most trails although no attempt was made in the east fields as the tracks would have disappeared in minutes.
While your initial instinct for a day like today might be just to hunker down, dress appropriately and you’ll get to witness first hand some of nature’s fury.
Groomer’s choice for today is the not so furious and protected Woolsey Woods.
