February 9th Grooming Report
Cabin Calf!
This little bull calf was perfectly content to be hanging around the cabin this morning. No sign of momma moose so who knows the whole story; this could be Number 20’s calf just striking out on his own. Even though he was very quiet, never forget to give our moose plenty of room as they have big hard feet that can be very dangerous.
Skiing today at Trail Creek is a bit of a mixed bag. The winds are clipping along at a good pace with the result being that the fields are drifting in quite quickly. The woods however are protected from the wind and are skiing nicely.
The Pisten Bully did reset classic tracks in the fields this morning along with some limited grooming in the woods, then grooming was wrapped up with the Ginzu groomer with skate grooming on almost every trail. Unfortunately we are having some minor problems with the Pisten Bully which will limit its use for hopefully a short time but we will do all that we can to keep the skiing good with limited use of the Pisten Bully alongside the snow machine grooming tools.
You might notice a few new trails in the Armin’s and Moose Loop areas. Our hosts the Seiffert’s are coming this weekend to their A frame cabin in the woods and the trail is so that they can get to their cabin. If you see them be sure to wave as we are skiing on their property which we greatly appreciate.
Groomer’s choice for today is Armin’s.
