February 7th Grooming Report
Night and Day Difference!
Head to the woods today and you’ll find some really nice ski conditions; crisp classic tracks, firm fresh corduroy skate lanes, and a gentle breeze gently dropping a few last flakes of snow, getting there however, is a bit of a different story. While it appears that the recent storm is winding down, the wind is still maintaining its fury in the fields and meadows.
Because of the howling winds today’s grooming kept a bit of carbon out of the atmosphere by focusing on areas that won’t rapidly be drifted over. The basic route was from the cabin to the woods with almost all of the woods trails receiving double passes with fresh classic tracks. Armin’s was getting quite a blow as well so was not on today’s itinerary. Access the woods trails either from the cabin or the end of the Old Pass Road and you should be able to have a very nice ski today.
Results have been posted from the recent Lander race on this site, while some of our IMD athletes were not participating; we had a great showing by those that were. It sounds like it was quite the race with around 400 skiers of multiple age groups racing.
Groomer’s choice for today is the thickly forested trails.
