February 10th Grooming Report

Winter Storm Warning!

The National Weather Service forecast for Trail Creek calls for snow moving back into the picture through the weekend.  Storm totals look to approach the foot range which will continue to build our great base.  One thing good too is that it looks like the persistent wind that we’ve been dealing with will finally diminish a bit.  Conditions will be soft but snow is always great in Jackson Hole.

Today’s grooming was mostly best line skate grooming with the Ginzu groomer, the main goal being to buff out the tracks from yesterday’s busy practice schedule along with grooming out the drifts that have formed from recent winds.  We are working very hard to get the Pisten Bully back on line and will post here as soon as we get a definite schedule.

Skiing today should actually be pretty good.  Classic tracks in the woods are still mostly well-defined and as the snowfall begins should be fun to ski.  Field classic tracks however are mostly nonexistent due to the recent winds.  Skate lanes are firm and fast and should ski well as long as snowfall totals aren’t too high.

Update on the Pisten Bully:  It is currently at Berg our mechanics and the part is hopefully on its way to Jackson.  A thousand thanks to Brian Sell and Parks and Rec for transporting our groomer to the shop, it should be back and grooming by middle of next week if all goes according to plan.

Groomer’s choice for today is to ski in the woods.
