Rose Strand moved to Jackson in 1992, a year after graduating from the University of New Hampshire, where she majored in International Studies and Humanities. She briefly left Jackson for NH again where she received a teaching degree and a Masters of Education. She taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grades at Jackson Hole Middle School for eighteen years and recently joined her husband’s business as a property manager. Rose started ski racing at 12-years old and continued through her first two years of college, when she raced for UNH. She has two boys, ages 12 and 15, who have been in the Alpine and Freeride programs and continue to enjoy skiing with the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club. Rose’s love of skiing and ski racing has shaped many aspects of her life over the years and is the main reason she joined the JHSC board - to give something back to a sport that has played an important role in her life. She hopes other student-athletes will benefit and find joy in the same way she has from being part of a ski club’s community.
