Club Wide Avalanche Education

The Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club’s mission statement is to inspire and develop student-athletes through World-Class, innovative, and accessible ski and snowboard programs that provide opportunities to pursue personal excellence in snow sports and life.

A component of the program that has been developed in line with this mission statement is our clubwide avalanche education program.

Alpine teams U12 through U16, as well as all Freeride and Nordic teams, will have one mandatory avalanche awareness session during each winter season.  The material covered in these sessions will vary from team to team and will progress as athletes move up through the age ranks. JHSC Clubwiide Backcountry Education is supported by the American Avalanche Institute, Teton Valley Search and Rescue, and other local experts and partners.
