January 10th Grooming Report
JHSC Skiers in Action!
Thanks to Coach Luna for recently sending in some great images, above is the crew (Nate Streubel, Sam Hutchinson, Colton Petsch, Abby Murphy, and Lena) that travelled to Alaska last weekend for the SuperTour #2- U.S. National Championships at Kincaid Park in Anchorage. Pictured below are Brayden Bayleygale and Ryan Murphy in the IMD Opener Skate Sprint last month here at Trail Creek. Our skiers are fast and they definitely get around. Check out the newsletter and learn that some are even off to Europe this season.
Closer to home, they will be skiing fast at Trail Creek today. You too could come on out for a lovely ski today and if you do, what you will discover is that the Husky has once again been hard at it, covering nearly every trail with fresh grooming. Since the classic tracks were mostly in good shape this morning, they were only reset on the narrower sections of the trails. While a single pass was adequate in most locations, the Close Field did receive multiple Husky passes. While a few grouser tracks were showing through the cold snow this morning, all in all results were favorable.
The day dawned clear and sunny, however clouds have moved in as the morning has progressed. The forecast is still calling for up to a foot of snow by Monday morning, mostly starting later in the day today and Trail Creek is now under a winter weather advisory for tonight and tomorrow.
Groomer’s choice for today is Sawmill.
