March 27th Grooming Report--2024-2025 Lollipopper Teams!

March 27th Grooming Report

2024-2025 Lollipopper Teams!

It’s kind of hard to imagine, but in 9 or 10 years it is quite likely that one or more of these beginning skiers will be standing on a podium at Junior Nationals, perhaps a few years later on, even the Olympics.  Lollipoppers, being Kindergartners and first graders, are our youngest skiers at Trail Creek and are a joy to observe.  Often times beginning the season barely able to stand on skis, by the time Coach Adam and crew have shepherded them around the trails through the season, they are charging down the biggest hills like Gut Flop and Face Plant.  Congratulations to all the Lollipopper skiers and the coaches for a successful season!

Hopefully you too have had a successful Nordic season.  While things are soon drawing to a close at Trail Creek, you still have a few days to enjoy some skiing.  This morning’s session was primarily removing signs and stakes from the fields with very little grooming happening.  However, little skier traffic happened yesterday and most trails are still quite pristine, and actually skiing quite nicely as they are beginning to warm.

Grooming will resume this evening with all of the courses for the International Spring Series races being set, we would ask any late day skiers to please avoid fresh grooming.  The plan is then for the Husky to make a pass through the woods on Friday Morning.  There will be teams practicing tomorrow, but the public is still able to ski.  On Saturday and Sunday the only trails open to the public will be the far woods/forest service trails.  The final grooming of the woods is tentatively scheduled for Sunday night or Monday morning and race trails will be groomed daily.

Word has it that volunteers are still needed for the upcoming races, if you have a little time on your hands, it would be greatly appreciated.  To volunteer, simply navigate to this website and pick your time and ability.

Groomer’s choice for today is to ski with the wonder of a Lollipopper.
