January 8th Grooming Report
Tons of Teewinots!
More than 50 Teewinots (JHSC Nordic skiers from second and third grade) have been making their way around the trails of Trail Creek this week. You can read Coach Libby’s Teewinot report, reports from all the other teams, about upcoming and past races and events, and lots of other local Nordic stuff if you check out the January Nordic Newsletter.
The Teewinots will be on snow again this afternoon and they, and you if you can make it out today, will discover lots of fresh grooming. Overnight temps dropped into the below zero range for the first time in a while. No new snow has fallen either, but the Husky was able to make pretty good progress today. Where possible most classic tracks were not reset as the recent cool temps have preserved them nicely. A few grouser tracks were showing through today’s skate grooming, but all in all, things should ski well. Pretty much every trail in the system did receive some grooming attention today.
As of report time the temperature is up to about 8ºF with a forecast high in the 20’s if the inversion breaks up. Dress appropriately and have a great ski today!
Groomer’s choice for today is Armin’s.
