Seriously Moose Chasing!
The Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club is proud to present the 27th Annual Skinny Skis Moose Chase Nordic Ski Race at Trail Creek Nordic Center in Wilson, WY. This premiere Nordic race includes a 30k, a 15k, 5k, 3k, and a free 1/2k. Competitors can skate or classic ski the course. The Moose Chase is the first event of the JHSC's Triple Crown Series. Just one week from tomorrow so time to get serious! Today however, is a lovely day to ski at Trail Creek. The sky is mostly sunny, the wind calm, and the temperature has already warmed to -20ºC/-4ºF by noon. Today’s grooming focused mainly on the Moose Chase course with double Pisten Bully passes through the fields with fresh classic tracks while most of the woods received only a single skate only pass. 95% of the conditions are really nice although you will find the occasional void or soft spot as the base has not quite completely consolidated since the recent heavy snows. Don’t forget to bundle up and you will have a great ski today.
