February 17th Grooming Report--Big News!

February 17th Grooming Report

Big News!

Well yes, it is a glorious day to ski and the Ginzu Groomer was able to lay not only some nice classic tracks, but also knock in some pretty good if a little soft skate lanes almost everywhere, and this afternoon will be a hive of activity when nearly 200 youth disperse throughout our wonderful terrain, but this is not the really BIG NEWS.  JHSC is officially launching a campaign to purchase a new Pisten Bully!

While our current Paana has been serving us well for the past years, the time has come to move on to a newer, more efficient machine.  We will be reaching out throughout our community to build support for this big undertaking and would appreciate any support that any could contribute.  Read on for the full press release, and by the way, groomer’s choice for today is the sunny fields and a new Pisten Bully 100!

Do you like perfect corduroy?

As you may have noticed, the grooming at Trail Creek has paused. Our Pisten Bully Paana is having some maintenance done, and we hope to be back up and running by the end of this week. It's a relevant time to announce that we have begun fundraising for a new Pisten Bully for the Trail Creek Nordic Training Center! We are reaching out to you as a key user, donor, and supporter of the trails at Trail Creek with an update on this campaign below and to ask for your support.

Our current Pisten Bully Paana has served the Trail Creek venue for well over a decade, but it has come to the end of its lifespan as an efficient and effective tool. It is operating at a much lower emission standard due to its age, frequently requires repair, and is far less efficient than newer equipment.

We Are One-Third of Way to Our Goal:

At the kickoff of our fundraising efforts, JHSC was awarded a $25,000 grant from the Teton County School District #1 Rec District Board. Then, with the generosity of about 20 Nordic community members, we generated $30,000, getting us roughly one-third of the way towards a new Pisten Bully.

We hope to complete fundraising efforts and put a deposit down by August 2021. This timeframe will ensure our new Pisten Bully arrives by the beginning of December 2021.

Our new Pisten Bully 100 (PB100) will represent the best Tier4 Emission technology, increased efficiencies, and lower annual maintenance expenses. This new machine will allow us to be more efficient when grooming with fewer passes and less impact on the property, all while providing race quality ski tracks for high-level athletes and beginners to train and race on.

"The terrain at Trail Creek is unparalleled and with quality grooming provided by a new PB100, we are giving the JHSC athletes the very best chance to succeed."
