Hard to believe that my first season at JHSC is (almost) behind us. What a year this was for me. I learned so much about everything Jackson, region and the club. It was nothing else but positive experience for me and my family.

I would also like to thank you all the volunteers who came out and support our afford to run quality Alpine events. We couldn't do it with out you!!! We are planing some small thank you gathering at the end of April for all Alpine volunteers.
Championships and other event reports:
FIS Team:
FIS team is closing out the season with championship races. We qualified the entire team for Western Region Junior Championships in Schweitzer. Standout finishes were four top 15 finishes with Holden 2nd in the Slalom. Owen and Holden both competed at US Nationals highlighting Holden finishing 18th in the Alpine Combined. US Junior Nationals are taking place now. Spring series is in Mammoth next week.
Helga our foreign exchange athlete has returned to Iceland to compete at Iceland nationals. She was a very motivated individual and a great influence on the team. She managed to drop her FIS points in GS from 990 to 132 in 6 starts. SG Points from 990 to 162 in 2 starts.
We have several athletes graduating from the program this spring. Emery Rheam will be attending Dartmouth, BB Hall to Colorado College, Owen Doyle to Montana State, Steve Shea to Bates, Tait Bjornsen and Jack Burkitt are still undecided.
The strength and conditioning season starts with May Fitness Camp on April 30th. This is available to all 2018/19' U16 and FIS athletes at no extra cost. Weekday afternoons are dedicated to strength sessions, games, mountain biking, and more!

U16:
The U16 team has wrapped up its championship season, and we represented JHSC at the Western Region U16 Championships and Tri-Divisional Championships with authority! At the Tri-Divisional Championships, Morgan Kilmain with a 2 nd place in GS and after hiking in the first run of slalom, won the second run starting in the back of the pack. Nick Janssen also had 6 th place in GS and Milo Goodell placed 11 th . At WR Champs, we brought the biggest group of U16s
in recent memory, taking 9 athletes up to Alyeska Resort in Alaska. On the girls’ side, Paige Doyle managed to finish in the top 30 in each event, with her best being a 17 th in slalom. Carey Ritter received the “Hard Charger” award in a rough and crazy Super-G moving from bib 66 to 23 rd place. Sophia Tozzi finished 13 th in the GS, and after a 4 th place finish in the Super-G training run, wasn’t able to find the finish on race day. On the boys’ side, Oliver Parazette led the charge with a 2 nd place in the GS and 1 st place in the Super-G! Martin Wilcox was top 30 in each event which put him in 9 th place in the overall awards, and Driscoll Larrow finished 9 th in the slalom.
Grant Hagen and Zander Ulmer both laid down some impressive, fast skiing, but had a hard time finding the finish. All-in- all, it was an amazing experience up in Alaska, and everyone skied very well.
Oliver’s performance at U16 WR Championship qualified him for U16 Nationals at Mission Ridge. Oliver started out the series strong with a 9 th place finish in SG and wrapped up the season was a 2 nd place in slalom!
We are now looking forward to finishing up the season by traveling to Snowbird for the Last Chance SLs and Snowcup GSs. We have had some good and so-so training over Spring Break out at the Village, and we are ready to take our momentum down to Utah!

U10:
The u10 ski season came to a close on March 18 and the awards banquet on March 20. What a great year with many firsts for several of our athletes. First race, first podium, first cliff drop, first drop into Corbett’s!! We finished up with the Flamingo cup in White Pine and eight of our athletes competed in the Intermountain Championships at Grand Targhee. It was a great weekend to finish up the season with a bit of powder and racing. All the coaches had a great time with the athletes and all saw significant improvement. Hope everyone has a great offseason and we will see you on the trails, soccer field, lacrosse field and hopefully on the snow at Mt. Hood this summer!!
SUMMER CAMPS:

Here are dates and some information again:
Camp 1: June 15 until June 21: FIS and U16 athletes
Camp 2: June 22 until June 28: U14, U12 and U10 athletes
Camp 3: June 29 until July 5: U14, U12 and U10 athletes
Camp 4: July 6 until July 12: FIS and U16 athletes
Athletes will arrive on Friday, first day on skis will be Saturday and last day will be on Thursday.
Families are responsible for transportation to and from Mt. Hood, but we will be able to pick up athletes at Portland airport (on Friday they will have to arrive to airport before 6pm and on Thursday they will have to departure after 3pm).
Price is $1500, which include six day of coaching on and off the hill, lift tickets room and board, transportation from condos to the mountain.
