March 13th Grooming Report--Surprising Storm!

March 13th Grooming Report

Surprising Storm!

Earlier the forecast was calling for an inch of snow and rain today, but what is hitting the ground is nothing but snow.  In fact, the latest forecast is now calling for 3-7 inches of snow today which is always something a Nordic center can use in March.

Today’s grooming began with a serious focus on Saturday’s Skinny Skis Wydaho Season Finale course with double Husky passes along with a fresh classic track.  Click on this link to view a higher resolution map, there will be a fun 1 K option, but the final configuration is yet to be determined.  Grooming then shifted to the woods with all trails being covered and classic tracks being reset where needed.  Homesite, Nosebleed, Moose Loop, and Animal Farm all received multiple passes.  The Nordic X also got a good whack in anticipation of this afternoon’s practice schedule and grooming wrapped up with a lap around the Close Field.

While the snow continues to pile up, as of report time, conditions were very lovely.  The snow was soft and groomed nicely this morning.  Registration for Saturday’s fun race opens at 8 AM with racing beginning at 10 AM.  You can continue to follow Junior Nationals and find results at the Muddy Dog Sports website.

Groomer’s choice for today is Homesite.
