March 10th Grooming Report--Busy Week and a Scorcher!

March 10th Grooming Report

Busy Week and a Scorcher!

If you’re a prep/comp skier and you’re not skiing this week at Junior Nationals in Soldier Hollow, you can take it a little bit easier, however the rest of the programs are still going full bore, even if there is going to be a bit of a festive element to this week’s practices.  Finishing off a great week of skiing is the Skinny Skis Wydaho Season Finale Race at Trail Creek Saturday at 10:00 AM.  This race is open to everyone and has distances of 1, 5, and 10 K.  It should be a great event at which to begin winding down your Nordic season!

As of report time, the temperature is a blazing 46º at Trail Creek with unlimited sunshine and light, gentle breezes.  Today’s grooming began with a journey through the woods with today’s focus being skate lanes as it is the venue for most practices.  A few classic tracks were touched up along the way; all should ski quite well in this afternoon’s heat.  Grooming then shifted to the fields with multiple passes, fresh classic tracks, the Nordic X course, and most minor trails and play areas all receiving attention.  Skiing should be lovely today in the sunny warm temps.

You can follow along at Junior Nationals where the results are being posted by Muddy Dog Sports.

Groomer’s choice for today is Shady Homesite.
