March 4th Grooming Report--Clean Slate!

March 4th Grooming Report

Clean Slate!

What was forecast to be less than an inch turned into around four inches of very dense snow yesterday at Trail Creek which gave the Husky just what it needed for its pallet to make some very nice skiing.  As of report time the temperature is a quite balmy 39º with calm winds and a bit of sun.  Skiers that have been out so far today have been finding joy.

In order to make that joy, the Husky began its daily routine by venturing through the woods.  Classic tracks were universally reset with multiple passes being made on Armin’s, Moose Loop, and Animal Farm.  After covering every major trail in the woods, attention shifted to the fields with most trails receiving multiple passes and fresh double classic tracks.  The Nordic X and inner loops also got thoroughly reworked.  Conditions are quite firm for fresh snow with very crisp classic tracks.

Thanks to Coach Libby for sending the image above, it took a lot of work for those Teewinots to make it to the top of Faceplant yesterday in all the fresh heavy snow.  Practice schedule is slightly lighter today and Thursday; tomorrow will be very busy and then on Friday lighter than usual as prep/comp skiers are heading down to Utah for either Junior Nationals or Western Club Championships.

Groomer’s choice for today is the very pristine Armin’s.
