March 2nd Grooming Report
Grooming to the Horizon!
Another brilliant day is in progress at Trail Creek where you should have no problem finding a great Nordic ski. Today’s early morning Husky grooming began with a pass through nearly every trail in the woods. Some of the trails received fresh classic tracks while some of the trails received skate only grooming, depending on greatest need.
Grooming then shifted to the fields with multiple passes and fresh classic tracks everywhere. The snow has gotten quite firm with recent warm dry weather, with the results being some of the classic tracks are a bit shallow, but should ski well. The skate lanes are still grooming nicely, and providing some fast fun skiing.
There’s still a lot of fun skiing going on over the hill today at the Intermountain Youth Festival today. Looking at the results from yesterday, it looks like JHSC has a promising crop of rising skiers to take over the racing reins in the years ahead. Also congratulations to the Jackson High School Nordic team for taking first place in the girl’s state championship competition and second in the boy’s at Happy Jack Nordic Center near Laramie yesterday. Full results are available here.
Light snow returns on Monday with the current hourly forecast calling for about 8 inches by Saturday with moderate temperatures.
Groomer’s choice for today is the resplendently sunny East Fields.
