Junior National Qualifier Weekend #3

Forty four JHSC Nordic skiers are on their way to Sun Valley today, to participate in the third and final of the season Intermountain Division Junior National Qualifier tomorrow and Sunday.  Those that do well get a chance to advance to the junior national championships in Utah that begin in two weeks. 4,500 miles to the east Lena and Nate had another great day in Norway.  You can see the results here.

You can have a great day if you come out for a Nordic ski today at Trail Creek.  The sun is beaming on miles of fresh grooming and as of report time the temperature has climbed to a very balmy 32ºF.  Today’s grooming began in the woods with every trail receiving at least one Husky pass.  Most classic tracks were reset, although in a couple of locations, priority shifted to the skate lanes.  Moose Loop, Moose Poop, and Grunt all received multiple passes.

Grooming then shifted to the sunny fields where most trails received multiple passes with fresh classic tracks.  While many recreational skiers have made their way out already to enjoy the lovely day, practice pressure will be light this afternoon as most of our skiers are out of town.  It’s Friday and it would be a perfect day to take the afternoon off for a Trail Creek adventure.

Groomer’s choice for today is Moose Loop.
