February 17th Grooming Report
Snowy and Busy Week!
Lots of skiing will be happening this week and lots of snow will be falling as well at Trail Creek. We’re back to our normal busy schedule, one thing to note, there is a parent classic clinic this afternoon while your kids are skiing. Later in the week, Junior skiers on up are heading off to Sun Valley for the third and final junior national qualifier which will decide which of our racers will get to head off to nationals in March. JNQ information is available here.
Thanks to Coach Kaya for sending in the image above; the coaches work really hard on Valentine’s Day and it’s always great to celebrate such a great holiday for a few more days. The image below was sent in by Coach Rob, looking at the top of the tree, it surely looks like there is a ghost hovering there!
Today’s grooming covered everything. All the inner loops of the Close Field, Nordic X, all the play areas, and all the trails were groomed today in preparation for a busy day and week. As of report time the temp has warmed to a balmy 33º with just a touch of wind moving a bit of snow around. All classic tracks were reset today, some in the field are drifting and some in the woods are a little close to the edges as we are widening trails out, but most will ski fine. Skate lanes are a smidgen soft, but as a busy morning crowd attested, they have been working pretty well. Homeward and Outward Bound, Animal Farm, some of Moose Loop, and the fields all received multiple passes.
Groomer’s choice for today is Homeward Bound, maybe you'll see a ghost.
