January 27th Grooming Report

Lollipopper Alert!

Thanks to Coach Adam for sending in some great images of the Lollipoppers in action last week.  The image above shows one of the favorite Nordic games, Squirrels and Nuts.  A notable accomplishment is that the Lollipoppers have already made it all the way to Sam the Truck this year; one competent young skier was taking a shot at driving Sam below.  Beware that Lollipoppers will be cruising on the snow today!

If you have the chance to get on some snow today, you’ll find nearly infinite sunshine, lots of great grooming, and temps that are rapidly warming.  Around sunrise this morning there was an impressive inversion going on with a 36º difference in temperature between the top of Glory Bowl and the airport.  While the wind is still calm, the report time temperature is already up to 9º and has climbed 5º in just the past 5 minutes with a forecast high in the 20’s; it will be a great afternoon to ski!  This week’s approximate practice schedule is below

Today’s grooming dedicated a lot of time to working in the fields in anticipation of a busy practice schedule today.  After multiple passes and most classic tracks being reset, the Husky ventured into the woods, making a maiden run of the woods section of the 2025 Moose Chase Course.  Mainly you will discover a few new intersections on trails that mostly have been groomed.  The rest of the trails received light traffic yesterday, and are all skiing nicely.

Groomer's choice for today is to not forget your sunglasses.
