January 15th Grooming Report
Sliding Towards the Weekend!
Today is another very busy day at Trail Creek with a lot of JHSC programs sliding around on the snow. However, Hump Day does mark the last practice of the week for Junior and older skiers, as they are heading off to Soldier Hollow for the first Junior National Qualifier of the year bright and early Thursday morning. The latest report is that we have 42 racers plus coaches heading south, good luck skiers! Skier tracks on the trails will be tapering off a bit as we head closer and into the weekend.
If you do want to slide your skis around Trail Creek today, you’ll find lots of fresh Husky grooming. Today’s mission began in the fields with multiple passes in the East Fields including fresh classic tracks. The classic tracks in the Close Field were mostly in good shape so grooming there focused mostly on skate lanes. Nearly every woods trail also received attention with classic tracks being reset where needed.
As of report time it is lovely at Trail Creek with quite a bit of sunshine and a temp of 20ºF. The forecast is calling for a sunny day near freezing tomorrow, a couple inches of snow on Friday, then some pretty cold temps for a few days after that. Note that Master skiers will be having a classic practice mid-day on Thursday at Trail Creek, their first of the year here.
Groomer’s choice for today is the East Fields.
