January 12th Grooming Report
Ski Freely!
There’s plenty of skiing at Trail Creek today and as of report time the crowds have been a bit thin, possibly because of JH Nordic’s Free Ski Event at Turpin Meadows. If it somehow slipped your mind, you might still be able to make it up for one of the Nordic season’s social highlights today. Activities continue into the afternoon, check it out if you’re interested.
Back to Trail Creek where we really appreciate your memberships and trail fees to support our mission, the Husky has been hard at work today. An early morning start covered nearly every trail in the woods with fresh classic tracks and skate grooming on a mostly single pass. The East fields classic tracks were in pretty good shape today so the pass there focused on widening the skate lanes, and the Close Field got multiple passes with fresh double classic tracks today. The snow is a wee bit soft, but should ski wonderfully today.
Conditions as of report time are cloudy skies, although you can see that the sun is trying to slide down the canyons from the ridge tops in the headliner image above, with a temperature of 17ºF. Looks like a pretty dry week with warm temps later on if inversions don’t happen.
Groomer’s choice for today is the Close Field.
