January 6th Grooming Report

Full Speed Ahead!

Today is the day when JHSC Nordic kicks into its top gear as all of our programs will be on snow this week.  Trail Creek will witness everything from our super-fast competition skiers all the way down to a new crop of Lollipoppers hitting the snow for the first time.  It’s going to be a fantastic week and while all the program skiers will be finding plenty of ski time, there still should be plenty of trails for everybody else as well if you work around the late afternoon (3:45) busy time.

Looking ahead at the schedule, note that two additional great Nordic opportunities are on the docket for this week.  First off is the Teton Ridge Classic happening over the hill on Saturday and then the JH Nordic Free Ski Day will occur on Sunday at Turpin Meadow.

Today’s grooming at Trail Creek was very extensive with every trail receiving at least a single pass with a fresh classic track.  Much of the fields, Animal Farm, and Olympic all received multiple Husky passes.  Overnight 1-2 inches of fresh snow fell which gave the Husky a lovely amount of raw material with which to work.  Looking ahead weather-wise this week, it looks to be pretty dry until 3-4 inches are forecast Friday night, however, temps should remain pleasant, but below freezing, allowing conditions to remain nice throughout the week with the weak mid-winter sunshine.

Groomer’s choice for today is Cle’s Climb.
