January 5th Grooming Report

Very Fine Fields!

If you’re lucky enough to head out to Trail Creek today for a Nordic ski, you’ll discover some very nice skiing trails in the fields.  Temps are Nordic friendly at just below freezing and you’ll also discover some brand "new today" grooming, specifically the legendary Gut Flop which has returned for the year.  If you are feeling bold today give it a shot, be warned that it will be soft for a few days and there are some rocks just below the surface.

The fields are definitely fine for skiing, however if you head into the woods you will find lots of fine skiing there as well.  The Husky made an early morning start and has pretty much covered every trail in the system today.  The trails in the fields received multiple passes with fresh classic tracks and the woods trails mostly received a single skate/classic pass.  What made things work quite well was that we received from an inch to up to three inches of fresh light snow overnight, giving things a lovely refresh.

While most of the morning has been sunny, a bit of snow has begun falling again, with the potential of up to three inches in the forecast.

Groomer’s choice for today is to cautiously try Gut Flop, if you’re feeling bold.
