March 8th Grooming Report
Lots to Talk About!
First off thanks to coaches Libby and Annabel for taking and submitting the great image above from yesterday’s Teewinot practice. Looks like they were having a great adventure, enjoying a great day!
Looking ahead to tomorrow, the Skinny Skis Wydaho Nordic Race Series Season Finale which is scheduled for 10 AM looks to be a fantastic way to finish your Nordic racing season. You can click here for a higher resolution map, but the forecast calls for another perfect blue bird day with start time temperature of 27ºF. Both skate and classic skiers are welcome, distances include, ½, 2, 5, and 10 kilometers. Come on out for a fun day of Nordic camaraderie!
Looking to the East, a dozen JHSC racers and a few coaches are checking out the national championship race courses at Mt. Van Hoevenberg near Lake Placid, NY. The webcam shot looks like the course is well covered with snow, although the mountains look a bit bare. The stadium webcam can be viewed here and all the racing information and results will be on the event website. Racing begins on Monday.
And finally, we did some grooming today. Today’s Husky grooming was pretty much the race course mentioned above. The woods section received a single pass with classic tracks only being reset in the narrow sections as the existing ones were quite nice. The fields received additional passes and even the Ginzu was called for a brief stint to groom through the gate by Mug’s Meadow as the Husky won’t fit.
All in all conditions are very nice, it’s painfully beautiful here today with perfect Nordic temps, calm winds and an intense blue sky; it’s simply a fantastic day to ski, and even a Friday, come check it out!
Groomer’s choice for today is to make sure you come out to the race tomorrow.
