January 16th Grooming Report
East Fields!
The permission to go ahead on the East Fields came in last night so mission number one for the Husky today was to plant the traditional trails throughout the East Fields. Snow cover was quite adequate and while perhaps a bit soft today, those new trails should ski nicely. The only thing that is waiting a bit of additional snow is Gutflop.
Otherwise today the Husky journeyed through most of the trails, leaving yesterday’s classic tracks where possible. Traffic was a little light yesterday, probably because of the cool temps, so a few of the lightly trafficked trails were not reset. You will however find classic tracks pretty much everywhere as well with double classic tracks around the close field.
Snow has returned to the forecast with current models calling for around 18 inches by sunset Thursday. Skiing will be adventuresome for the next couple of days but that amount will cover lots of dragons lurking beneath the snow.
Groomer’s choice for today is to take a maiden journey around the East Fields.
