January 27th Grooming Report
A Blank Slate!
Believe it or not, less than 24 hours ago there were very distinct Nordic ski trails in the image above. Take a foot of fresh snow and dump it across the terrain and everything pretty much just disappears. Never to fear however, the Husky has been hard at it today, doing it best to keep our trails present and skiable. Today’s grooming did cover pretty much every trail with at least one skate/classic pass. Homeward and Outward Bound, Animal Farm, Moose Loop, Armin’s, and the Close Field did receive multiple passes.
The winter storm warning forecast continues through Saturday night with quite a bit of snow yet to come. Assuming they made it there in the storm, high school skiers are racing in Casper today and tomorrow so after the midday winter sport skiers depart, it should be a relatively quiet afternoon and a great time to enjoy the bountiful snowfall on your Nordic skis.
A note on the grooming for a while to come, your regular groomer had double hip replacement surgery last summer. While the first one went well, the second one has had issues and needs to be redone in a surgery scheduled for Monday. For the near term the grooming duties and report are being handed off to his very capable son Gannett who is more than ready to keep things functioning in the grooming world of Trail Creek. He will be monitoring the grooming email of trailcreeknordic@gmail.com, so if anyone had any suggestions, he would surely appreciate them.
Groomer's choice for today is Armin’s.
