December 28th Grooming Report
Winter Wonderland!
Days of snowfall have transformed the landscape at Trail Creek into a wintery land of delight for Nordic skiing enthusiast. You are not mistaken in noticing that classic tracks were being placed on the Armin’s section of our trail in the image above taken earlier today. Snowfall has been light today with the breeze mostly gentle; we’ve even seen a few patches of blue and the temps are pleasantly cool for lovers of winter.
While not every trail has received classic tracks yet, they are becoming more prevalent. Couple on top of that steady cool temps and the weak midwinter sun, and you have the perfect recipe for our waxing brethren to be able to stick on a simple wax and find classic skiing pleasure for days. Skaters as well are doing quite well even though the conditions are still just a wee bit soft. Today’s grooming did cover most every trail except for the East Fields with about half receiving classic tracks.
Area Nordic Legend Nancy Leon was kind enough to send in some great pictures from last weekend’s Betty Woolsey Classic Race (results are now posted), thanks Nancy and enjoy!
