November 30th Grooming Report
Working on the Trails!
When the mega snow event hit the valley around the 15th of the month it looked like fire mitigation might be done for the year. Dry and sunny weather for the past couple of weeks has once again made burning brush piles a possibility, allowing the grooming department to “toast” some piles in the Son of Gutflop area today in preparation for its eventual grooming.
In addition to playing with fire, the Ginzu was called into action today, laying down skate grooming on most trails. Thanks to the continued cool weather, the snow is hanging in there being very firm but edge-able and not icy. Reasonable classic tracks exist in the close field and on Armin’s. Snow is still in the forecast which if it materializes should make for some great skiing.
One discovery was made during today’s grooming operations; a mysterious structure was discovered in the woods somewhere in the Trail Creek network. File it away in the back of your mind and perhaps you might discover this fascinating work in the woods on one of your Nordic outings this winter.
Groomer’s choice for today is Armin’s.
