February 24th Grooming Report

Head for the Woods!

The wind is cranking today at Trail Creek but don’t let that stop you from having a great ski today.  Even though as of 11:30 moderate winds are moving a lot of snow in the field, the sun is trying to break through and the temperature is a very pleasant -3ºC/27ºF.

Due to the wind, today’s grooming focused on the woods trails with all of them receiving multiple Pisten Bully passes complete with fresh classic tracks.  3-6 inches of snow fell overnight but due to the relatively warm conditions the Pisten Bully was able to lay down some nice crisp corduroy with nice conditions in the woods.

Of possible interest to Trail Creek skiers is an article in Back Country Magazine (thanks for the image) about the three women involved in the early days of the Trail Creek Ranch and also about the early days of skiing in the area.  The fascinating article about Betty Woolsey, Muggs Schultz, and Sis McKean can be viewed by clicking this link.

Groomer’s choice for today is the calm Woolsey Woods.
