December 14th Grooming Report
Busting Through Mugs!
One more ungroomed section of our trails bit the “Pisten Bully dust” today as there was plenty of snow for our trusty groomer to turn tons of fluffy white into glorious corduroy. While glorious corduroy might be a bit of a stretch for a day or two, what would have been a knee deep slog 12 hours ago is now very skiable. Give it a few days and it will be glorious corduroy.
On the topic of glorious Nordic corduroy, you will find plenty of that today at Trail Creek along with more classic tracks than any time this season. The close field, all trails on the private property, and Animal Farm received double PB passes with classic track while the rest of the National Forest trails got a skate pass.
Lots of skiers were out so far today but that is a good thing. As of 12:15 PM the temperature was -5ºC/23ºF with cloudy skies and calm winds. There have been a few snow squalls this morning but they have not amounted to a popsicles worth of accumulation on the trails.
