December 5th Grooming Report
Ginzu’ing Away!
Another lovely day to ski at Trail Creek today with mostly sunny skies, calm winds, and a temperature right at freezing as of 11:15 AM. While we are waiting for additional snow to fall, grooming has switched to the Ginzu groomer which is a little gentler on the thin base we have at this early season date. The classic tracks and skate lanes in the close field are still skiing pretty well and the skate lanes in the woods will also give you the opportunity for a great Nordic workout. Just keep your eyes open for obstacles that will hopefully be covered soon with additional snow.
Looking ahead, it appears as if we will be getting that snow over the weekend. Current forecasts call for around a foot which would be awesome. Also look for grooming in the Black Hole/Boiler section next time the Pisten Bully ventures forth.
Another looking ahead item is that the first high school Nordic meet of the season is happening tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday at Casper. Skiing should be great as Casper Mountain received 24 inches of snow in the Thanksgiving storm. Good luck to the racers.
Groomer’s choice for today is some sunny laps in the close field.
