March 7th Grooming Report
Heading Out!
There’s nothing quite like the feeling of having a freshly waxed pair of skis on your feet and venturing forth on virgin corduroy for a great Nordic ski. This couple from San Francisco did just that today, and as things have been pretty slow this morning, you too could have a similar experience if you come out for a great Nordic ski at Trail Creek today.
Since yesterday’s grooming we picked upwards of two inches of fresh light snow. There have been very light and inconsequential snowflakes, slowly drifting onto the trails since grooming began, but they have added up to only a light dusting and have done little to alter the Husky work today. That work began with a tour of every trail in the woods. Classic tracks were reset along the way, but both skaters and classic skiers should find joy today. Homeward and Outward Bound and Woolsey Woods received multiple passes. Grooming then shifted to the fields with multiple passes and fresh classic tracks on most trails as well.
The Nordic X course got a rework in anticipation of the Junior team practicing this afternoon, otherwise it will be pretty quiet today as most of the older JHSC skiers are either at the Western Club Championships or Junior Nationals. Racing begins tomorrow, results from Western Club Championships will be posted at Summit Timing and results for Junior Nationals will be posted at Muddy Dog Sports. Go Racers!
Groomer’s choice for today is Outward Bound.
