March 1st Grooming Report--Very Busy Fields

March 1st Grooming Report

Very Busy Fields!

Race week is upon us and we’ve shifted race prep into high gear today at Trail Creek.  Saturday and Sunday will see hundreds of regional youth descending upon our beloved ski area, competing to see who are the fastest of the upcoming classes while having a lot of fun along the way.  If you are wondering what the myriad of trails are for that have recently appeared in the fields, the map above kind of explains everything.

Today’s grooming focused most of its time in the fields as there was so much to do.  All the trails and play areas pictured above were groomed.  Some of the new additions will be a bit soft for a day or two but they’re all skiing pretty well.  There was just enough time for the Pisten Bully to make a skate pass through most woods trails except for the National Forest today as well.  While some of the classic tracks might be getting a bit weak, all in all everything should ski well today.

Looking ahead to the rest of the week, Monday and Wednesday afternoons will be very busy with all teams on deck, with Tuesday and Thursday being the quieter days.  Friday afternoon will probably see a pickup in activity as the teams roll in.  The fields will be closed most of the weekend although you should be able to find plenty of skiing in the woods.

Groomer’s choice for today is to check out the very busy fields,
