March 1st Grooming Report
Not a Cloud in the Sky!
March is surely coming in like a lamb here today at Trail Creek with nothing but endless blues skies and rapidly warming temperatures. While the forecast is calling for a return to more winter-like conditions next week, if you like sun and warmth, this weekend is just the ticket!
If you have a ticket for a great Nordic ski, you can turn that in today at Trail Creek and get just what you want. Today’s early morning Husky grooming began with a journey through the woods, covering pretty much every trail along the way. Most sections received a single pass with attention shifting between classic tracks and skate lanes, depending upon which had the greatest need. Then focus turned to the fields with multiple passes on most major trails with fresh classic tracks along the way. While a few of the untouched classic tracks might be just a bit glazed early this morning, skiing in general is great today and you won’t be sorry if you invest in a Nordic ski!
Racing is running at full speed over the hill in Idaho at the Intermountain Division Youth Championships. If you can’t make the drive, you can see the results on this Zone 4 website. Today is the final day of racing in Laramie at the Wyoming High School Nordic Skiing Championships; the results for this race are being posted on the High Plains Nordic website.
Groomer’s choice for today is the shady woods.
