March 18th Grooming Report

Junior National Racers!

Thanks to Coach Luna for sending in this fine shot of the crew that attended Junior Nationals this year.  It is great that all of their hard work resulted in some fantastic results at nationals.  Congratulations to racers and coaches.  All the results are available at the Muddy Dog Sports website.

Overnight an unusual storm tucked into the valley.  Usually Trail Creek gets 2-3 times more snow than Jackson, but last night spots in town reported six inches while Trail Creek’s total was closer to 3.  However, those inches resulted in a lovely landscape today, draping the bows of the trees with the white bounty and giving the trails a fresh surface for some great grooming.

The Husky performed that grooming today, beginning with a journey through the woods where classic tracks were reset everywhere.  Homeward Bound, Outward Bound, Grunt, Moose Poop, Animal Farm and Olympic all received multiple passes.  Grooming then shifted to the fields with most trails receiving multiple passes with fresh classic tracks.

The new snow groomed nicely today, report time temperature is 29º, and it is simply a lovely day to ski.

Groomer’s choice for today is the fields.
