March 16th Grooming Report--Winter Reboot!

March 16th Grooming Report

Winter Reboot!

Even though the first day of spring is less than a week away, you wouldn’t know it today at Trail Creek where 6 inches of snow have fallen already and as of report time, it is still snowing heavily with a temperature of 27º.  Thankfully the forecast winds aren’t tucking into our valley much as of now, leaving nothing but a great and enjoyable winter snow storm to experience today.

Yesterday a small but dedicated group of skiers showed up to celebrate the approaching end of the season with the Skinny Skis Season Finale.  There were lots of prizes and great Nordic camaraderie, if you didn’t come out, you really missed out!

It’s still not too late to miss out on a fun Nordic ski today.  Today’s early morning grooming began with a Husky journey through the woods, placing classic tracks along the way.  Attention then shifted to the fields with multiple passes and fresh classic tracks on most trails.  The Husky did head back into the woods for some extra attention on Woolsey Woods, Moose Poop, and Homeward and Outward Bound.  While conditions are definitely trending rustic today, three months from now when you’re sweltering in oppressive heat, chances are you will think back and wish that you would have taken advantage of having a ski in today’s storm.

Groomer’s choice for today is Woolsey Woods.
