March 16th Grooming Report
Miles per Gallon!
When driving a car a big number is a good thing. Today at Trail Creek you miles per calorie is probably going to be a lower than usual number which is not a completely bad thing as you can get your workout done in a much shorter distance.
Overnight another 6 inches of snow fell at Trail Creek and as of noon the temperature was 2ºC/36ºF with mostly cloudy skies and calm winds. Today’s grooming began with the roller which was able to cover most every trail with multiple passes today. The Ginzu groomer was also called into action, placing classic tracks around the fields and doing some additional skate grooming in the close field.
Skiing will be slow today but some skaters have already been out and seemed to be doing ok. Temps are forecast to finally drop into the low 20’s overnight so hopefully by tomorrow we can get all caught up once again.
While Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Club is shutting down all facilities as of Tuesday this week, our intention is to continue skiing at Trail Creek for the time being although the cabin will be closed.
Groomer’s choice is the close field.
