March 12th Grooming Report
Skiing is Just Fun!
Thanks to Coach Kirsys for sending in some great photos from last week’s practice when Teewinots journeyed into the donut dimension. There are lots of smiles in these pictures, in fact, pretty much every time you encounter a Teewinot skiing, there is a smile on their face!
If you have time to come out for a ski today, it will be hard to keep a smile off of your face. What you will discover is lots of sunshine, light breezes, a temperature warming through 42º as of report time, and lots of fresh Husky grooming.
Today’s grooming mission began with a journey through the woods with the focus being primarily on skate lanes. The recent warm temps resulted in some quite crusty and chopped conditions this morning, but the Husky was able to tame most surfaces. Grooming then shifted to the fields with multiple passes and fresh classic tracks. The snow had not fully warmed as grooming was progressing; combine that with recent warmth, and some of the classic tracks are a bit shallow, skate lanes are lovely.
We’re in for a dramatic change weather-wise tomorrow with precipitation and cooler temps returning. Don’t forget about Saturday’s Skinny Skis Wydaho Season Finale and you can continue to follow Junior Nationals and find results at the Muddy Dog Sports website.
Groomer’s choice for today is the East Fields.
