July Freeride Program Newsletter

The JHSC Freeride Program is off and running, as the summer season has started with a bang. At this writing, the Freeride Program has just wrapped up their first on-snow training camp at Woodward at Copper, Colorado. Additionally, we just completed our first skateboard camp of the Summer, and we have plenty more happenings. We have a skateboard camp every other week, and in late July, a group of athletes from our Competition team will head to Mt. Hood, Oregon, to train at the Windells training facility. Below you will find great photos of our athletes at Copper and at our first skate camp; additionally, you will find a farewell note from Program Director, Andy Lex, as he has chosen to move on from the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club.

Farewell Note From Program Director, Andy Lex

Dear Freeride Program,

As many of you know, I have submitted my resignation to the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club. I’ve been involved with the JHSC Freeride Program in various roles for eleven years, and I’ve had so many powerful experiences working with this amazing community.  I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the athletes, families, my coaching staff, fellow Program Directors, and industry partners for such an amazing journey. Working alongside you all has truly been an honor - thank you.

My past three years as Program Director has taught me so much, and I want to thank you all for your patience and support as I navigated this leadership role. To be sure, this decision was extremely hard for me to make. I am happy that JHSC chose to hire within, and I'm confident Collin will work tirelessly to support the growth and development that the Freeride Program deserves. I've had the honor to work with Collin over the past three years, and he was instrumental both in the office and on snow with his contributions. Please reach out to Collin and give him a welcome and offer your support where possible.

Thank you again for allowing me to serve you and this program; it has been one of my greatest honors. I look forward to seeing to seeing y'all around as I'm staying here in Jackson, and I am excited to see how this program evolves as it enters into its next and exciting chapter. Wishing you all the best as we look forward to a successful and fun 2023/2024 winter season.

Sincerely,

Andy Lex
