January 7th Grooming Report
Surprisingly Nice!
Oh NO, the Pisten Bully is down, how can we ever ski?! Actually… the Ginzu job did a really nice job in the fields today and if you get a chance to come out you’ll find some pretty nice skiing. Around 100 of our youth all managed to slide on the Ginzu groomed snow quite well last night with the first of our peak season afternoons.
Going forward Monday and Wednesday afternoons will be the busiest although you could find teams out any afternoon. Wilson Winter Sports will be here mid-days on the 14th, 16th, 21st, and 23rd. Reports from practice last night include the image below (clickable for more detail) from Coach Kathy of an ermine that treated the Lollipoppers to a life and death lesson as it scurried away with a rodent and Coach Sevi reported that her Teewinots choice of direction was to ski the “pow” on Faceplant which was great.
Today’s grooming was multiple Ginzu passes of all field trails with fresh classic tracks. This was followed by rolling of most every trail in the woods. 11:15 AM conditions are mostly sunny and calm with a balmy temperature just heading warm of freezing. Pisten Bully diagnostics are scheduled for this afternoon, the condition being an inability to produce more than 70% of maximum power. Hopefully this is a minor condition and can be quickly remedied so that those of you who just have to have your Pisten Bully grooming will be happy.
Groomer’s choice for today is the sunny surprisingly nice fields.
