January 6th Grooming Report

Simply Lovely!

The snow is falling fast and furious today at Trail Creek.  11 AM conditions are heavy snow, calm winds, and a temperature of -2ºC/28ºF.  Overnight 6-10 inches of snow fell with an additional 2-4 since grooming began this morning.  Snow is forecast to continue into Monday.

Today’s grooming was very slow with all the fresh snow.  The close field, Moose Loop, Animal Farm, Mug’s Meadow, Black Hole, Homeward Bound, Outward Bound, and Boiler all received multiple Pisten Bully passes with fresh classic tracks.  Grunt and Moose Poop received single passes.  Skating is going to be an exercise in exercise today as the snow is quite soft.  An early morning classic skier on the other hand was making wonderful progress.  Skate or classic, it is simply a lovely day to be in the snowy woods enjoying the magnitude of the snow fall.

Our high school skiers had another good day in Pinedale on Saturday; Saturday’s classic results are available here.

Groomer’s choice for today is Moose Loop.
