January 3rd Grooming Report

From Here…

To Here!

It’s amazing to see the full range of the JHSC Nordic program; yesterday was the first day for many of our programs including the youngest Lollipoppers (thanks to Coach Kathy for the top image above), while the bottom image (thanks to Coach Luna) was from the National Cross Country Championships in Michigan.  A decade or so ago, these speedy racers were simple Lollipoppers, learning the joys of Nordic skiing on their first days of skiing.  It is pretty amazing to watch the process as the years go by.

Today at Trail Creek you will find plenty of great skiing.  Since yesterday’s extensive grooming, a short inch of snow has fallen with continuing light snowfall.  Pretty much every trail received the attention of the Husky with classic tracks being reset on the narrower sections or where needed.  The East Fields received multiple passes as well as much of the Close Field.

Today’s practice schedule is a bit lighter with Prep/Comp skiers and possibly the Ositos although they might be skiing at the middle school for a few weeks to get their skis under them.  Thanks again to Coach Luna for the pictures from Houghton Michigan, the streaming link from the event web page should be live today.

Groomer’s choice for today is Moose Loop.
