January 30th Grooming Report
Nordic Carnival Map!
While there is still the possibility of change, the tentative courses are set for the February 8th 2020 Nordic Carnival. Things to note are that we are planning a new and temporary road crossing taking racers straight from the stadium to the East Field Woods, three and five K racers get the joy of experiencing Gutflop once, and the ten K skiers get to do it twice with their final lap, not to mention Suicide and Faceplant. It should be a great day on some never before configured courses. Click on the image above for a higher resolution version.
Configurations here at Trail Creek today include lots and lots of Ginzu grooming. Almost every trail received both skate and classic grooming today. The sun is shining although it is breezy and the temperature has been hanging just below freezing all morning long with the 11:30 temp being -1ºC/30ºF. About 2 inches of snow fell overnight.
Of note today, several moose have been reported such as the one above on moose loop that have been a little friendlier than usual so you might want to give them a little extra room today.
The field trails are drifting a bit so the woods might be a good bet today.
Groomer’s choice for today is Mug’s Meadow.
