January 29th Grooming Report
Mountains of Snow!
Storm totals are approaching the 2 foot range for our most recent snowfall event here at Trail Creek. As morning grooming began and snowfall was mostly nonexistent, it looked like we had a good shot of getting in front of the snow, however as grooming progressed, once again the beautiful white flakes began to fall rapidly on our trails.
All in all, things are much more groomed than yesterday with most trails except for a few of the National Forest Service trails receiving double Pisten Bully passes with fresh classic tracks. Even the National Forest trails all received at least one pass. About 3 inches had fallen from the time grooming began so even skaters were still able to make some progress on the somewhat soft trails. Classic skiers appeared to be having a good time.
The teams are off to Bozeman today for the course inspection at the Bozeman JNQ although they might be wishing they were here as current conditions show rain and about 40ºF in Bozeman. If your valley fever is getting to a high level and your covid protection armor system is good, you could actually go up and spectate this weekend. Event details are at this website and covid safe spectators are allowed.
Groomer’s choice for today is Armin’s.
