January 22nd Grooming Report
Multi-Age Relays!
Coach Kathy reports from yesterday;
“Great to see 24, multi-age teams practice the relay on Monday for the upcoming Nordic Carnival. The start wave of Lollipoppers and Teewinots skied .5 km loop and tagged their Devo teammate who skied a 1 km loop. Next on each team was a Junior who skied the big field and tagged their comp team captain to bring it all home! The Nordic Community has always been multi-generational, and this new peer-coached relay is a fun example of that! ”
Way to go teams, it’s amazing to see the wee ones working with the really fast ones, keep up the good work.
If you are looking for a good workout today, you can surely find it at Trail Creek. Today’s grooming began with double Pisten Bully passes of the private property woods trails with fresh classic tracks. This was followed by a single PB skate pass through the National Forest trails. Next on the agenda was a single PB skate/classic pass through the East Fields which was followed with double passes through the close field with fresh classic tracks.
Conditions as of 12:45 were a temperature of -1ºC/30ºF, a little bit of sunshine, a little bit of snow, and enough to wind to be moving the snow around in the fields.
Groomer’s choice for today is Woolsey Woods.
