January 22nd Grooming Report
Heat Wave!
As of report time the temperature is up to 22ºF, a pretty big departure from the past couple of days. On top of that, the sun is mostly shining and there is lots of fresh Husky grooming at Trail Creek; it would be a great day for a Nordic ski!
The wind did pick up a bit overnight and was indicating that it might want to blow this morning, so today’s grooming began in the woods with the Husky covering nearly every trail there. On that circuit, fresh classic tracks were set pretty much everywhere. After completing the woods, attention switched to the fields with double classic tracks being set on most trails and skate grooming everywhere. As grooming was wrapping up, there were a few gusts of wind, but mostly the snow is staying put.
The practice schedule is really busy today with most teams on snow at Trail Creek. Things will taper off a bit towards the end of the week; don’t forget that the Spud Chase is Saturday over the hill.
